Bacon Popcorn

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

bacon popcornHave you ever had that urge to put bacon on absolutely everything you eat? Well I have and this recipe was a life saver on a lonely Wednesday night. Over at Nosheteria they have come up with a delicious way to add your favorite food, bacon, to delicious popcorn! And the kicker to the whole thing is that the popcorn is actually cooked in the bacon grease! How amazing does that sound.

So first thing’s first, fry up that bacon. Make sure it’s nice and crunchy and greasy.
Once that is done, remove the bacon strips and place them on a paper towel, dabbing them to get some of the grease off if you prefer.
Now pour the popcorn kernels into the pan full o’ bacon grease and put a lid over the kernels. You’ll start to hear the popcorn popping, wait until you feel like all the kernels have popped and remove the lid.
Pour the popcorn into a bowl
Cut up the bacon strips and sprinkle them over the popcorn and Enjoy.

Thanks to Nosheteria for the recipe/picture.

Bacon Cereal, Actually Kind of Gross

Friday, June 27th, 2008

bacon cerealSome guy named Maks put together a website with his “ingenius” recipe for Bacon Cereal. It’s actually not really cereal at all, it’s more of a modified salad minus the lettuce or vegetables or anything that could possibly make a salad good for you. I don’t even know how someone could eat an entire bowl of this stuff it looks absolutely disgusting. It consists of cooking bacon and chopping it up, then filling a small bowl with bleu cheese salad dressing and mixing in the bacon bits… that’s it! There is nothing more to this “cereal”. The bleu cheese is the milk replacement and the bacon is the cereal replacement, and it replaces anything that was appetizing about cereal. This is what Maks had to say about his experience with the cereal,

It probably compares to being electrocuted while having your wisdom teeth removed by a back alley dentist. My tongue burned with each bite from the sodium content.

If you want to see some more detailed pictures of this recipe then head on over to Maks website for some larger, more detailed pictures of this monstrosity.

Francheezie

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

francheezieFRANCHEEZIE!!! I bet you’re asking yourself what a francheezie is. Well if you guessed the most delicious food on the planet you are correct! This one is a little harder to make at home, but you can figure it out.

Here’s what you do.

Take a jumbo hot dog, cut it down the middle, fill it with american cheese (or whatever cheese you prefer on your hot dogs), then wrap that sucker with bacon and deep fry the hell out if it. Put on a hot dog bun with some ketchup and enjoy with your chocolate covered bacon. Mmmmmmm, so good.

Bacon Wallet

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Holy crap! This could be the single coolest thing I’ve ever seen, well the picture of Jesus riding a dinosaur in my post about Bacon Vodka is a pretty cool, but this is a close second. It’s a Bacon Wallet! You can carry around your wads of cash in a wallet that looks like it’s made of bacon. The only thing cooler than this would be if the wallet was ACTUAL bacon, but that could get slimey and ruin a good pair of pants.

Click on the picture for more details on how to get one for yourself, I just ordered 2, these will make great stocking stuffers for Thanksgiving!

Chocolate Covered Bacon

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

chocolate covered baconChocolate Covered Bacon!! BACON COVERED IN CHOCOLATE?!?!?!?! Yep, you heard me right, sounds delicious doesn’t it. If I could cover a pig in chocolate and take a bite out of it’s back… well I probably wouldn’t but it could be fun to cover a pig in chocolate and let it loose in a Curves gym.

What you need

1 bag (~12oz) of Semi-Sweet Chocolate
1 1lb of uncooked bacon
Cookie Sheet or Pan
Frying Pan
Double Boiler
Cooking tongs
Plate
Paper Towels
Spoon

Here’s what to do!

1. Cook the bacon in the frying pan. If you don’t know how to cook bacon you obviously have never tasted the greatest food on the planet, I’m glad I could help you in this time of need.
2. Put a paper towel over the plate, put the cooked bacon on the plate/paper towel, put another paper towel over the bacon if you wish. You can press down to get some of the grease off, but if you do you might as well quit now and go get the sand out of your vagina.
3. Get that fancy double boiler and fill the base with water. If you don’t have a double boiler find a big pot and a little pot and fill the big one with water. Bring the water to a boil.
4. Start throwing chocolate into the pot that doesn’t have water (it should be sitting in the pot with water). And melt up your chocolate while stirring it with a spoon so that it doesn’t burn. Burnt chocolate is the worst.
5. Eat a piece of bacon and bask in the glory that is heaven.
6. Dip each piece of bacon into the chocolate and then place onto the cookie sheet, or whatever you want to use to cool them.
7. Cool the chocolaty bacon in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
8. Eat chocolate bacon
9. Follow next recipe for main course.

Bacon City Theme Song

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Sing to the tune of Notorious B.I.G.’s  Hypnotize (song courtesy of Bhinder)

Bacon, Bacon, Bacon, Can’t You See;
Sometimes your looks just make me hungry;
And I just love your fatty taste;
this is why I’ve got a 40″ waist.

If anyone has suggestions for the next verse, leave a comment!

100% Bacon Burger

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

bacon burgerThe guys over at Peppers and Smoke have a recipe for a burger that isn’t really a burger at all. It contains no ground beef, but instead contains 100% bacon. Which means it’s 100% more awesome than a normal burger.

Here are the basic instructions for how to make one of your own. If you wish to see more pictures of the process head on over to Peppers and Smoke, they deserve your visit.

Basically you buy bacon and grind it up in a meat grinder then mold the ground up bacon into pattys and cook in a skillet. They suggest cooking to 170-degrees in the middle. Then enjoy!

Bacon Vodka

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Bacon vodka is exactly what you think it is…. vodka that has a bacony taste to it. If you make it right it can be delicious, if you make it wrong, it will be one of the grossest things you’ve ever tasted.

Bacon + Vodka = Jesus riding a dinosaur, while holding a smaller, yet still ferocious dinosaur.

What You Need:
3 pieces of cooked bacon
1 empty jar about a pint size, or bigger depending on what you feel like doing.
1 bottle of vodka
3 weeks of waiting time
A freezer
A coffee filter to get the goopy pig fat out of the vodka
A ride to the hospital because this is going to knock you out with it’s awesomeness

Instructions:
1.
Cook up the bacon, you shouldn’t have to do this since I already told you above that you needed 3 pieces of cooked bacon, but incase you missed that, cook up your bacon now.
2. Put 3 pieces of cooked bacon into the empty jar.
3. Fill that jar with delicious vodka.
4. Close the jar.
5. Put the bottle of heaven into a cupboard for 3 weeks, don’t be tempted to touch it before then or you will be sorry.
6. After 3 weeks put the bottle in the freezer and freeze it so that the fat solidifys in the jar. Mmmmmm bacodka fat…..
7. Wait a little while, a day or so, and then take the bottle out of the freezer and strain through a coffee filter to remove all the fatty gunk that has built up, you don’t want to be drinking that trust me.
8. Serve and Enjoy.
