Chocolate Covered Bacon

chocolate covered baconChocolate Covered Bacon!! BACON COVERED IN CHOCOLATE?!?!?!?! Yep, you heard me right, sounds delicious doesn’t it. If I could cover a pig in chocolate and take a bite out of it’s back… well I probably wouldn’t but it could be fun to cover a pig in chocolate and let it loose in a Curves gym.

What you need

1 bag (~12oz) of Semi-Sweet Chocolate
1 1lb of uncooked bacon
Cookie Sheet or Pan
Frying Pan
Double Boiler
Cooking tongs
Plate
Paper Towels
Spoon

Here’s what to do!

1. Cook the bacon in the frying pan. If you don’t know how to cook bacon you obviously have never tasted the greatest food on the planet, I’m glad I could help you in this time of need.
2. Put a paper towel over the plate, put the cooked bacon on the plate/paper towel, put another paper towel over the bacon if you wish. You can press down to get some of the grease off, but if you do you might as well quit now and go get the sand out of your vagina.
3. Get that fancy double boiler and fill the base with water. If you don’t have a double boiler find a big pot and a little pot and fill the big one with water. Bring the water to a boil.
4. Start throwing chocolate into the pot that doesn’t have water (it should be sitting in the pot with water). And melt up your chocolate while stirring it with a spoon so that it doesn’t burn. Burnt chocolate is the worst.
5. Eat a piece of bacon and bask in the glory that is heaven.
6. Dip each piece of bacon into the chocolate and then place onto the cookie sheet, or whatever you want to use to cool them.
7. Cool the chocolaty bacon in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
8. Eat chocolate bacon
9. Follow next recipe for main course.

100% Bacon Burger

bacon burgerThe guys over at Peppers and Smoke have a recipe for a burger that isn’t really a burger at all. It contains no ground beef, but instead contains 100% bacon. Which means it’s 100% more awesome than a normal burger.

Here are the basic instructions for how to make one of your own. If you wish to see more pictures of the process head on over to Peppers and Smoke, they deserve your visit.

Basically you buy bacon and grind it up in a meat grinder then mold the ground up bacon into pattys and cook in a skillet. They suggest cooking to 170-degrees in the middle. Then enjoy!

Bacon Vodka

Bacon vodka is exactly what you think it is…. vodka that has a bacony taste to it. If you make it right it can be delicious, if you make it wrong, it will be one of the grossest things you’ve ever tasted.

Bacon + Vodka = Jesus riding a dinosaur, while holding a smaller, yet still ferocious dinosaur.

What You Need:
3 pieces of cooked bacon
1 empty jar about a pint size, or bigger depending on what you feel like doing.
1 bottle of vodka
3 weeks of waiting time
A freezer
A coffee filter to get the goopy pig fat out of the vodka
A ride to the hospital because this is going to knock you out with it’s awesomeness

Instructions:
1.
Cook up the bacon, you shouldn’t have to do this since I already told you above that you needed 3 pieces of cooked bacon, but incase you missed that, cook up your bacon now.
2. Put 3 pieces of cooked bacon into the empty jar.
3. Fill that jar with delicious vodka.
4. Close the jar.
5. Put the bottle of heaven into a cupboard for 3 weeks, don’t be tempted to touch it before then or you will be sorry.
6. After 3 weeks put the bottle in the freezer and freeze it so that the fat solidifys in the jar. Mmmmmm bacodka fat…..
7. Wait a little while, a day or so, and then take the bottle out of the freezer and strain through a coffee filter to remove all the fatty gunk that has built up, you don’t want to be drinking that trust me.
8. Serve and Enjoy.
