I made these and am thoroughly enjoying them, however I did not follow the recipe. I would like to share the changes with you that I made.

I cut the bacon into lardons (julienne strips) before I cooked them, then cooked slowly to render all fat.

I substituted the butter for the rendered bacon fat, which came to exactly 1/2 a cup.

I cut the sugar down to 1/4 cup, because I substituted the cereal flakes for raisin bran ( why purchase two products ;both cereal and raisins) then threw in a handful of dried cranberries.

The baking instructions were spot on, even for my oven, I baked at 350 for 7 1/2 minutes then turned pan and baked another 7 1/2 mins. Perfect!

Thank you for a fun and delightful change to the dilemma "What's for breakfast?"

If you put a bunch of dark brown sugar over all of the slices about 1/2 through the cooking time, you get really excellent candied bacon. Another weird sounding, but utterly delish is to put minced garlic on it as well. I assure you - there is nothing quite as awesome as garlic candied bacon...

Almost all of the things you mention happens to be astonishingly precise and that makes me ponder why I had not looked at this in this light before. This particular article truly did turn the light on for me personally as far as this particular topic goes. Nonetheless there is one factor I am not really too comfy with so whilst I make an effort to reconcile that with the actual main idea of your point, permit me see what all the rest of the visitors have to say.Nicely done.

I've made these a few times, they have a unique and great flavor which is even better if they are warmed. I use corn flakes and do not over-cook the bacon, which I crumble into small pieces. Next batch I may replace raisins with cranberries...
